The Oklahoma School Counselor Association is seeking a driven school counselor that possesses leadership skills and a desire to participate in furthering the mission and vision of OSCA through personal enthusiasm, professional advocacy, and active contribution.

The winner of the Emerging Leader Grant will receive up to $2,000.00 in order to attend the ASCA National Conference. The winner will be announced at the end of National School Counseling Week.

Eligibility Requirements:

• Must be a current member of the Oklahoma School Counselor Association

• Must be a practicing school counselor in Oklahoma

Submission Requirements:

• Submission of current resume

• Submission of 1 letter of recommendation

• 500-word maximum essay that addresses the following areas:

Vision:

• Vision for the future of the school counseling profession

• Vision of the impact you hope you make on your students

• Vision for your own professional growth

Leadership (include examples of leadership or aspirations of leadership for the following):

• Your current school site

• Your school district

• The state of Oklahoma

Goals

• Define concrete goals that will help you accomplish your vision

Requirements of Winner:

• Present something learned at the ASCA Conference at the next OSCA Annual Conference

• Join and participate in an OSCA Committee of your choice for at least one term (current committee members may apply if not serving in a board position)
